DESCRIPTION:Heritage artist Jo Burt is an English songwriter\, storyteller\, singer and guitar player possibly best known for his incredible history working with musical legends such as Freddie Mercury\, The Troggs and even Black Sabbath over the past 40 years. \nBurt spent much of his early career in the late 70s and throughout the 80s and 90s touring the globe with various music icons including Jimmy Page\, The Police\, Elton John\, Brian Setzer\, Bob Geldof – and of course Freddie Mercury\, Black Sabbath and ‘Godfathers of Punk’ The Troggs – and recording in some of the best studios the world had to offer. His is a unique and fascinating insight into the heady days of rock & roll\, now long gone. \nAfter a fantastic few decades touring\, writing and recording with some of the biggest names in the business\, Jo pulled back from a life on the road to take an active role in raising his two sons. For years he played small\, local venues in London and continued to write and record in his own studio. When the boys were old enough and finding their path in the world\, Jo felt able to re-devote his time to touring.\nThe last 15 years have seen Jo making a name in his own right. His band was originally created as a songwriting development tool\, and ultimately became an outstanding live act playing festivals and venues around the UK\, Europe and Canada\, including a slot at Glastonbury Festival in 2017. \nJo’s writing style is based on his background of guitar-orientated rock\, with a southern-style influence and a very English ‘Beatles-esque’ twist. To use his own terms – ‘Anglicana’ and ‘psycho-country’. The show also includes his own versions of some of the biggest hits from the artists that shaped his career. He is an hypnotic performer\, drawing in his listeners with tales from his recording and touring past\, and telling gripping and intriguing stories through his songs themselves. His warm and enthusiastic approach never fails to endear him to his audience and Jo and his band continue to electrify with the mixture of high energy\, honesty\, intensity and humour that they bring to each performance. \n
